Getting eye strain on Pixel 2 XL

I never owned a Pixel phone before, so I bought a Pixel 2 XL second-hand and installed LineageOS. I like the phone, but I get terrible eye strain if I look at the display for a longer time. Is anyone else experiencing eye strain on the Pixel 2 XL?
