Established in 1992, Art First Gallery holds the distinction of being Fredericksburg’s first artist-owned and operated cooperative gallery. Located at 824 Caroline Street in Old Town Fredericksburg, Virginia, the gallery has been a cornerstone of the local art community for over three decades.

Art First Gallery showcases a diverse array of fine art, including traditional and contemporary paintings, artist-rendered prints, photography, ceramics, original paperworks, fine weaving, sculpture, jewelry, and mixed media. The gallery’s monthly rotating exhibits feature both All Members Exhibitions and Featured Artists Shows, ensuring a fresh and dynamic experience for visitors.

Notably, Art First Gallery was instrumental in initiating Fredericksburg’s First Friday events, a tradition that has flourished for over 30 years. These monthly gatherings celebrate art, community, and the vibrant culture of downtown Fredericksburg, drawing thousands to explore local galleries, interact with artists, enjoy street performances, and savor the offerings of local restaurants and shops.
