is the 3395 really a perfect sensor?

Does it make any sense at all to upgrade from a decent 3395 mouse as far as performance go? The 3395 is often regarded as a near perfect sensor, and if that is the case, would it ever be necessary to upgrade, or could someone just main a single mouse and not miss out on performance?
