What can I switch into?

Advice

Good morning everyone!

I’m currently working as a senior preconstruction manager for a large GC, working primarily in the mission critical (data centers) sector. I’ve worked in construction my whole career, about 10 years, and every year I go through the same “crisis” of thinking about switching careers.

I’m not in love with the subject matter, and I feel as though I’m pursuing something purely for the salary benefits, rather than something I truly enjoy or at least something that affords me a little better of a work life balance. The company I work for now has a miserably bad work-life culture, but they have afforded me a solid jump in my career from my previous position.

All in all, I think something maybe in the finance industry or maybe product project management related would interest me and also not be a significant income sacrifice. I’m not sure really how to go about exploring these options, or other career paths, so here I am!

Thank you!
