Would you consider taking your ABA leadership expertise abroad?
I recently came across a fascinating case in Shanghai: an organization is building an executive-level leadership role for someone with strong ABA expertise (think BCBA-D / PhD level).
The role involves:
• Leading a multicultural team of professionals (both local and international).
• Overseeing ABA-based program development, training, and clinical quality.
• Driving curriculum innovation, including digital/AI-supported intervention tools.
• Representing the organization in academic collaborations and conferences.
It made me wonder – for those of you in this community who are in clinical director / program director / BCBA leadership positions:
- Would you ever consider taking your ABA expertise abroad, particularly for a senior executive role?
- What would excite you the most about this kind of opportunity?
- What challenges would make you hesitate?
Curious to hear your thoughts, especially from those who have worked internationally in ABA or have considered making that kind of move.
