Mesa Mark 5:35 - Reverb tank question? (combo)
I've posted on the Boogie forum, as well as TGP with no luck.... Gonna try here ;)
I just converted my Mark 5:35 head into a 1x12 combo (empty cab I purchased off of Reverb). I've got everything migrated over, but I can't figure out what to do with the reverb tank?? I tried placing it in the cab with the springs facing down (aluminum plate on bottom still), but the springs rubbed on the bottom plate and made a metallic noise (not just reverb) with any vibration. I tried placing a piece of cardboard between the springs and plate, not much difference was made. I then flipped the tank, and secured it with Velcro and this seems to work... I left the aluminum plate (and cardboard) on it, otherwise the springs would have been exposed (facing up). THIS works, but I seriously doubt this is how it comes from the factory and I'd like to "do it right" in case I want to sell/trade it later?
Does the combo use the same tank and is it in a bag, or exposed?
Can someone take a picture of the inside of their Mark 5:35 combo to show me how the tank looks in it? Please?
