Possible solution for the restoration of Napster libraries
I just became aware of the Napster debacle today. Over the last few months I started to notice tracks disappear from my Napster library slowly over time. I just assumed it had something to do with changes in the available Napster catalogue. Upon logging into Napster today I discovered that over 95% of my Napster library that I built for over a decade was gone. I verified this on both the Napster mobile app, as well as the website interface.
I decided to dump Napster and use a different music service. I decided to try Amazon Music first. I created an account and installed the Amazon Music mobile app. While researching Amazon Music on the website interface, it provided some information about available apps that would migrate Napster playlists to Amazon Music. That webpage is at https://www.amazon.com/music/i/playlist-import . I decided to migrate the small amount of my remaining Napster library using the TuneMyMusic link on the Amazon webpage. Amazon loaded up a page at https://www.tunemymusic.com/transfer?mode=amazon . The TuneMyMusic webpage requested my Napster login information, and then it loaded up my Napster library to view and select what I wanted to transfer. To my astonishment, my previous entire Napster library was visible in TuneMyMusic. EVERYTHING that I thought I had lost was now visible in the TuneMyMusic website. Napster has become such a joke. Obviously your Napster libraries are still intact on their servers and visible in 3rd party web apps, but the Napster interface and mobile app can't access them for you.
Using TuneMyMusic, I successfully transferred ALL of my preexisting Napster playlists and tracks to Amazon Music. One caveat...TuneMyMusic will only allow you to transfer 500 songs for free, and then you are prompted to upgrade to a paid membership. However, after transferring the first 500 songs, I deleted the TuneMyMusic cookies from my Firefox browser. Then I was able to continue to download my remaining Napster playlists and tracks to Amazon music for free. Your TuneMyMusic transfer history is obviously tracked in their cookies, so deleting them resets your download activity.
TuneMyMusic will allow you to transfer your Napster libraries to a number of other services, including Spotify, Pandora, Apple Music, and others. Hope this information helps others to avoid having to rebuild your entire music library from scratch.
