How do I accept that my boyfriend is ran through

Hi I’m sorry for the silly question but I figured perhaps you can help me come to terms with things. My boyfriend and I were together before and then he went off to university and had “relations” with many people there but someone cheated on him and then he decided to come back to me. How do I accept that it is what it is? Honestly this is devastating
