2019 hrv rear brakes

Hi all, I want to change my rear rotors and pads on a 2019 hrv lx. I've heard of 3 different ways of retracting my epb for maintenance; I don't have maintenance computer thingy, and would rather not take it apart. My question is, can I just pull the epb fuses while the car is in gear then shut it off to do the brake change?
