Best Certification for Math/Stat and Econ major?
Hi all
So, I graduated with a degree in math/stats and economics (alongside a certificate in actuarial science) at a public university up here in Canada. I spent awhile applying for finance and actuarial work for awhile, but couldn't seem to even land an interview. I wanted to try and get additional certification, but given the cost it was outside of my budget at the time. Now I have a stable job (as a driving instructor of all things, so not something that I want to do long term), which gives me the opportunity to take another look at the certifications.
At this point I am not too picky about the exact field that I go into. I know that I love working with numbers so something math based would be right up my alley. I've also found that I do enjoy working with people, finding their needs and working to help fill them so I would be more than happy for an advisory role to continue doing that as well.
So I was wondering, what are the best certifications to be looking at? I've seen some people say CFA but also others saying that it's over saturated, there's the Canadian Securities things, then I also have the option for the actuarial exams and I am just wondering what is the best option to help me get into a job that I actually want to do long term.
