Chapter concept Fractured Frame
Some believe Jacob Wright wasn’t pulled into the Fog by accident. He was hunted. Not by a person, not even a killer in the traditional sense — but by something born from the photos he took. Each photo Jacob captured of Entity-touched realms was an act of defiance: an attempt to bring truth into the light. But truth has a cost. The Entity responded. In the chemical depths of his darkroom, a photo didn’t develop. Instead, it melted. The image didn’t fail — it resisted. It bled out ink. It screamed. Then it began appearing in other photos. In puddles. In mirrors. In Jacob’s own eyes. What emerged was not a person, not a soul twisted into a monster. It was an aberration — a being manifested through corrupted memory, formed in the negative spaces Jacob tried to fill. The Vitrifier is not a killer with a plan. It is a living cancellation — the physical embodiment of reversed truth.
Power: Emulsion “What was captured is now destroyed. What was framed is now unrecognizable.” You can mark areas of the environment with Exposure Zones (up to 3 on the map). These are invisible to Survivors until triggered. When a Survivor enters an Exposure Zone: Their screen briefly flashes white, as if a photo was taken. They suffer from Obliviousness and Blindness for 10 seconds. They also gain a 5% debuff to gen repair for 60 seconds Exposure Zones last for 90 seconds and can be recharged every 30 seconds. 🖤 Negative Space (Special Ability) After hooking a Survivor, you can press the Active Ability Button to enter Negative Space for 15 seconds: You become a silent, semi-transparent silhouette with no Terror Radius or red stain. You cannot break pallets or kick gens. You leave no red light, but your movement causes a warping visual distortion. Survivors who look directly at you while in Negative Space scream and reveal their aura for 3 seconds. Cooldown: 45 seconds.
Killer perks
Fractured Image
"Things don't stay in place. Not in here." Every time you kick a Generator or break a Pallet, the closest Window within 16/18/20 meters becomes blocked for all Survivors for 8 seconds.
Bled Through
"They think they escaped. But something followed them back."
After a Survivor heals another, they both become exposed for 12/14/16 seconds (If they were already injured, they become exhausted).
Overdeveloped "Too much light can burn through film — and flesh."
Each time a Survivor is in your line of sight for 3 seconds, their screen begins to white out slightly. After 6 seconds of line of sight exposure, the Survivor is Hindered (-5% movement) for 4/5/6 seconds and suffers from Blindness. Resets after breaking line of sight.
Survivor:Jacob Wright
Jacob Wright grew up in a small town and was passionate about photography from a young age. As he grew older, he became fascinated with the stillness after tragic events and the subtle beauty and horror within the objects left behind. Jacob became a famous photographer known for capturing photos at haunted places and tragedy, struck places, notably, places such as the McMillan and Yamaoka Estates and the island known as the garden of Joy one day when photographing a abandoned gallery where it was said that a massive massacre happened where people Unexplainably started fighting and killing each other Was where Jacob was to have his next photo shoot upon entering the gallery and finding his first shot he went up to the second floor to get a better angle as he walk down the stairs from the second floor after taking his prize to shot a black fog surrounded him.
Survivor perks
Photographic memory: Your incredible memory allows you to remember all the details in any situation.
Whenever you repair one generator, the aura around that generator has all pallets and windows revealed while within 12 meters of a completed generator. Photographic memory can apply to one generator per trial.
The key is to remember all the finer details. -Jacob Wright
Double exposure: Your skill in photography has allowed you to capture surreal situations and images.
Whenever you’ve been in chase for 35/30/25 seconds, Double exposures activate. Whenever you vault, you spawn a decoy clone of yourself that runs for ten meters and leaves scratch marks before disappearing.
I just got to find the right angle, and it's perfect! -Jacob Wright
Darkroom Clarity: Even in the darkest moments, you can develop a clear picture.
When you are within 16 meters of a Dull or Hex Totem, it glows with a white aura for you. Once every 60/50/40 seconds, you can "focus" (press the Active Ability Button) to gain a burst of 5 seconds of Killer aura-reading if you're within 24 meters of a Totem. Does not trigger while in a chase.
Remain calm and find clarity in the stillness. -Jacob Wright
Realm: The Shattered Gallery An impossible museum in black, white, and gray. All paintings have been scrubbed clean. Frames hang with only fog inside. Some areas distort space — rooms repeat, doors lead to themselves, and some photos on the wall show Survivors' current actions seconds before they occur.
Instruments: Warped analog tape loops Reversed cello and piano Broken camera shutters are clicking rhythmically Slow, grainy static hiss like an overexposed film reel Deep sub-bass pulses mimicking heartbeats — but irregular Distant screams or voices played backwards, barely audible beneath the mix Structure: 0:00 – 0:15A slow fade-in of static hiss, like an old CRT television warming up. Occasional shutter clicks echo far away, layered with deep, reverberating pulses. Nothing sounds quite "in time." 0:15 – 0:45A reversed piano melody begins to play — out of tune, minor key, as if it's struggling to play itself. You might hear a camera winding up, but instead of a flash, there's a glitch-pulse like a corrupted image loading. 0:45 – 1:15Distorted strings swell — not cinematic, but sickeningly tense. They're stretched unnaturally, creating microtonal dissonance. A low mechanical groan plays rhythmically, mimicking someone dragging metal across a tile floor. 1:15 – 1:45Sudden silence. Then a brief audio flicker — like someone editing reality and cutting out the sound for a second. The loop begins again, but it’s slightly different, as if the memory of the music was warped between playbacks.
