Kids music artist from the 80s
There was a kids music artist in the 80s that I used to listen to his LPs a lot, and I can’t remember his name or any of the names of the albums. The songs were mostly him and his guitar. He had kind of a nasally voice. The album art on one of his albums was a black-and-white picture of him, lifting a ladle out of a soup pot and his own head was in the ladle. I remember one song he had about a road trip from a kids perspective with the lyrics “The road looks the same/the car is hot/the dog drops drool on my arm/ Tommy is poking me in the ribs/Tommy has that kind of charm.” Another one was a song encouraging kids to nag their parents to buy his record. The chorus was sung by a group of shrill kids voices it went “Mommy! Mommy! I’ve got to get a record/Daddy! Daddy! Buy one for me/Mommy! Mommy everybody’s got one/“ Any help anyone?
