Simulator Accuracy

I recently visited Five Iron Golf, which uses a TrackMan simulator with an overhead setup positioned directly above the ball. I noticed that my iron carry distances in the simulator seemed very inaccurate compared to what I see on the course or at the range. In some cases, the simulator even showed my carry distance as being longer than the total distance.

My swing with lower irons tends to be steep, so I am wondering if the system might not be capturing the ball flight accurately due to potential obstruction. For example, my pitching wedge was registering at around 90–100 yards, but that same distance was being reported all the way up through my 7 iron. On the course, I hit my 7 iron ~150 yards, and I’ve validated that distance both on the range and have even seen it at another simulator with a different setup (GolfZon). Interestingly, my hybrids, woods, and driver appear to be tracked much more accurately, which makes me think this issue is specific to my irons.

Has anyone else experienced this with a steep swing on overhead TrackMan systems?Interested in a membership for the upcoming off season but am a bit disappointed with how my first session turned out.
