From choc board to MX board.

[help]

I'm building a Charybdis mini, my first MX board. I main a Voyager with ambients but wanted to try something compact with keywells. I really like the form factor of the charybdis but man.... I'm not liking MX switches. I have Outemu peach and lemon installed to test, and while silent they're bit to heavy, I can change springs to solve that but overall what I'm really struggling with is travel distance.

I'm so used to choc boards and short travel distance that my fingers get tired quickly with the MX longer travel, maybe its just a matter of getting used to it but.... is there  mod that would help me here?

I read about o-rings but.... do they really make it shorter?
They for sure help bottom out earlier but at the same time they raise the keycap so... isn't the total travel distance the same?
Also, these switches have stem similar to Khail box so not sure o-rings fit in nicely.

I've come accross Outemu LP switches but there's no silent option there...

Anything else I could try?
