So I’m 23F. I’d say I’m decently attractive — not the prettiest girl in the room, but definitely someone who could end up being the center of attention. I know my personality is a strong point: I’m funny, witty, compassionate, emotional, and kind. People who love me often tell me this… but I always end up doubting them because, well, they love me.
Here’s the thing though: I cannot fathom the idea of someone being genuinely attracted to me. When people hit on me, my brain immediately dismisses it as “oh, they’re just nice to everyone” or “they don’t want me to feel bad.” Even on apps like Bumble/Hinge, I’ve gotten a fair number of matches and people who were genuinely interested in meeting. But still, I struggle to believe it. Anyone in the same boat? How do you deal with it?
