How long until directors receive complete creative control?
I assume directors receive complete creative control over large budget films after they directed or written/directed multiple critically and commercially successful films on lower budgest some even higher. Coogler directed and written furtivale station on a very low budget but was very acclaimed which reulted in Sundance buying distribution rights. It eventually grossed 17 million on a 900 thousand usd budget. This was huge for him which led to him pitching a story for a rocky spinoff. Creed, but budget was significantly higher this time 40 million he then directed and wrote screenplay for it. Which some creative setbacks. It was massively acclaimed and a huge financal success, grossing 173 millions. He then wrote screenplays for and directed both black panther films with severely limited vision but on extremely high budgets, 200 and 250 million respectively.First one was acclaimed, 2nd one not so much. After all of that he was finally granted complete creative control for sinners. He was directing and writing without inference and also producing with a pretty big budget of 100 million. With his production company. It was massively acclaimed and obviously another financial success. Thing is does you career have to be simmilar to coogler's for you to be eventually granted complete creative control?
