Any idea why Blue Jay would make this noise?

question

Live in a wooded area. Have bird feeders on raised deck(like 20ft off ground). Have a bunch of regular birds like a group of cardinals, woodpeckers, blue jays, chickadee. Today one of the blue Jay's made a sound reminiscent of a hawks scream. Not as high pitched but a long drawn out screech similar to a hawk in length and *almost in sound but not high. Have watched these birds for months(new hobby lol) and the blue Jay's are regulars. I've never heard one of them ever make that noise. They're definitely dominant at the feeder coming in groups of usually 4. Blue Jay made the screech while sitting on the deck which caused all the other bird to flee. Proceeded to fly to other side of the deck do it again amd them flew to a tree about 30ft away n kept making it.

Does anyone know why it would exhibit this behavior? They have been pretty vocal but it's always chirps. This was like maybe a 7-10sec long "screech". Made it on the deck and continued when flew into a nearby TREETOP
