Our very special girl suddenly passed away yesterday morning from complications of hemangiosarcoma. It was unexpected and our lives are shattered. A part of us has died with her.

8 years ago my husband, with $213 to his name, picked up Loki for $200. She was supposed to be 100% bluetick, and as you can see she wasn’t. But she was the best dog (more of a person than dog really) we will ever have.

He had her for three years, until I came into the picture. My cat Memow and her blended so well into a beautiful family. Loki was even our Best Hound for our wedding. At the time we were fostering a kitten that we named Little Man. He ended up becoming ours too. Then during our honeymoon we found Indiana Jones and the rest was history. We were so blessed to have such a furry bunch, but Loki was the linchpin to our crazy family.

Some of you may remember a post about Indiana Jones. He passed away from Myeloma almost a year ago. It seems cruel to lose both our dogs a year a part to the same horrible fate. Loki was there to comfort us when we lost our boy and now we are struggling to make it through losing her. At least we have comfort in knowing they are both together chasing critters in the mountains.

Rest in peace our sweet Loki bug. (Aka: Bean. Bug. Monkey. Sea Bass. Madam GoodHound. Egghead. Grumpy Gwendolyn. Squeaker.)
