How to avoid duplicate emails but still access Gmail archive via IMAP
Hi,
I recently set up Thunderbird to handle email from my Gmail account via IMAP using the settings on the Mozilla setup guide. I noticed that when I search in Thunderbird that I see duplicate copies of emails showing in the search results. It appears this is quite a common issue and is caused by subscribing to the 'All Mail' label/folder.
Mozilla recommends unsubscribing from the 'All Mail' folder in Gmail to solve this issue, but presumably then I won't be able to search emails after they've been archived?
So, how do I configure Thunderbird to avoid duplicate emails showing in searches but still be able to access my Gmail archive? Do I need to set up a different archive folder locally or is there a way to make this work with Gmail/Thunderbird?
Thanks in advance
