Can we please stop playing for 2nd place.

I get it when one team/player is already at 60%. But in every game I play lately everyone gives up and teams up with the crown as soon as the crown hits 25%. Taking 1st is still very much up for grabs and it's driving me insane that everyone just stops playing when they think they can sit on their hands for the rest of the game and place 2nd.
