Cost of Food
I traveled to Georgia and was surprised by how expensive groceries were compared to local pay. How do people afford basic staples and everyday living? For example, an 8oz bag of chips was $5.89, more than what I usually pay in California.
Even peaches cost more than in California, which felt odd since labor and transportation costs are lower there. Maybe larger stores get bulk discounts, but honestly, it threw me for a loop.
