A Reflection on the Tragic Death of Charlie Kirk and What It Teaches Us About Humanity
Today, I learned about the tragic death of Charlie Kirk, who lost his life to violence. When someone goes like this, it’s not just about that one person; it reflects how we, as humanity, fail to see ourselves as a collective. Violence isn’t a display of power; it shows weakness. Taking a life over differing opinions reveals that your own beliefs might not hold up under reason and compassion.
This young man dedicated his energy to inspiring the youth around him, and for that, I respect his spirit. Every voice that encourages young people to think, question, and stand firm in their beliefs deserves our attention. However, we must remember that strong beliefs without love can turn into fanaticism, and activism without a sense of service can become prideful.
I’m not asking you to agree with his views or reject them angrily. Instead, I urge you to dig deeper. Assess a person not by whether you share their beliefs but by the genuineness of their efforts. We’re all children of the same God, and to take a life just because someone said something you didn’t want to hear isn’t strength; it’s cowardice.
Let this tragedy reflect back on us. It should remind us that no nation, community, or religion can thrive on hate and division. Real strength comes from building instead of tearing down. True youthfulness is found in service, not destruction.
If you want to honour the deceased, don’t add to the cycle of violence. Instead, find the power within yourself to serve, to pursue truth, and to love even those who disagree with you. That’s what true humanity looks like.
May his soul rest in peace, may his family find comfort, and may we all take a lesson from his passing, striving to live with more compassion, courage, and unity.
