Meal time

My almost 15 mo is really starting to hate the high chair. Sometimes he’ll eat really well in it and others it’s a few bites and then he wants out and throws food everywhere. When he doesn’t eat well I usually offer him food while he’s on the go and he’ll eat well. But I don’t know if that’s a good habit to get in to. Was thinking of getting him his own table and chair for meals but I don’t know if that will solve the problem. Any suggestions or is letting him roam and take bites here and there the way to go when the high chair isn’t his vibe? Thank you
