Expedition 19 - Phase 5

so i think ive shot myself in the foot royally. Im at step where i need to completely explore a derelict freighter. I started it, landed and explored a bit but i had to go due to work so i saved. Now im back ingame and the freighter is obviously not there anymore and it seems only way for me to try locate one is to spend 5 million credits which i dont have. Anyone got any tips for me on how i can get past this?
