Question about Berlin tickets & resale (Eventim / fanSALE)

💬 Discussion

Hi everyone!

Ticket sales start tomorrow. I’m planning to buy tickets for the Berlin show as I’ve received an unlock code. I’m based in Poland, though, and I’m not 100% sure I’ll be able to make it to Berlin in December, so I’d like to clarify a few things before I buy.

How I understand it so far

Tickets (for Berlin at least) will be sold via Eventim.de.

My email also said that resale will be possible via fanSALE.de starting in October.

The email warned that tickets sold above face value on third-party sites will be cancelled – and later seemed to say ALL tickets sold on third-party sites (i.e., not fanSALE) will be cancelled. (a bit contradictory / confusing wording)

Separately, the Radiohead FAQ says the only way to transfer/resell is through the official ticketing platform’s transfer/face-value resale, and that tickets or codes offered on reseller sites or above face value may be cancelled. (This is why I’m asking!).

My past experience / constraints

I’ve previously bought a ticket for an event in Germany through the Eventim.de and later needed to resell it. Because I’m in Poland, I ran into issues:

The ticket was electronic only, but the resale process at the time required a physical ticket.

I also didn’t have a German residential address, which became another hurdle.

I ended up using TicketSwap, which caps prices (in my experience it was +15% over the original price), basically just enough to cover platform fees and avoid scalping.

A few questions for people familiar with this:

  1. If I can’t go, is TicketSwap a safe option?

Specifically, if I list at face value (no markup), how do you think, could the ticket still be cancelled because it’s on a third-party platform?

  1. Are the Berlin tickets personalized / name-checked at the venue?

I’ve seen references to ID checks at some venues; if these are personalized, I’m guessing that complicates third-party resale even more :(

  1. fanSALE practicalities for non-German residents:

Has anyone outside Germany successfully resold Eventim.de tickets via fanSALE.de without a German address and without a physical ticket? (In my earlier case, lack of a physical ticket and address blocked me.)

I really want to attend this show, just trying to avoid getting stuck with a ticket I can’t use and losing the money if things don’t work out. Any first-hand Fansale/Germany experiences or clarifications would be super appreciated.

Thanks a lot – and best of luck to you all in getting tickets tomorrow!
