The end of Storm Chasers event chain is really underwhelming

Suggestion

So, we're nearing the culmination of our storm frenzy and are ready to unleash the nexus storm. The Big One, a cataclysm the galaxy has not seen yet. We can follow through with it or back down at the last moment. If we back down, we get respect from the galactic community and a modifier granting +10% happiness/+20% unity. Makes sense. We understand that the galaxy is not a toy and learned some moderation.

Now, what do we get if we follow through?

  • a nexus storm in our face. Cool, that's what we're here for.
  • hate from the galactic community. Makes sense, didn't expect those cowards to understand our thrill. So far, so good.
  • we keep the Storm Frenzy modifier, +5% happiness/+10% unity. Half of what we'd get otherwise.
  • ...and NOTHING.

This doesn't feel right. Two options for the conclusion of the origin-specific event chain, one of which doesn't bring anything but disadvantages and the "correct" one requires you to abort your quest of the lifetime. Would make much more sense if there were some rewards for spawning the storm too, something reflecting the reckless nature of it. For example, a modifier giving +sublight speed/+fire rate/-disengagement chance, more protection from storms (we just endured the worst one of them, surely we learned something from it) and the ability to create nexus storms since we know how to do it already.

By the way, spawning of the nexus storm is bugged too - the weather map shows it's going to spawn but it never does, unless I reload the save, in which case it spawns immediately.
