I probably did not get the job right?

Interviews

I want people’s honest opinions, feel free to share your thoughts without filters. I am honestly okay with getting roasted too, I'll appreciate any opinions and inputs. Here is a summary of my situation with the company I applied for below.

Passed phone screen, did an in-person interview (1.5 hour: Q&A, background, SQL test - scored 90%, metrics test - scored 70%).

  • Fumbled 2/5 key questions.
  • On 3 instances, recruiters took notes from my answers.
  • Was 3 mins late to the interview (traffic/rain).
  • Two interviewers --> 1 was little distracted from the moment we shook hands (on his phone and stepped out for 10 min in middle of the interview), the other interviewer was nice and attentive
  • No talked about perks or asked for my availability.
  • Interview went overtime (1 hour interview --> 1.5 hour, I was asked to finish up quickly in the written test portion near the end)
  • At the end one of them said “You’ll know the result in a week.”

It’s been 7 days now. In my experience, serious offers come with quick callbacks (within 72 hours). Also, correct me if I am wrong but interviewers usually say "You'll hear back in a week" as a polite way of rejecting someone more often than not. Silence is making me overthink everything and I am not sure what to expect. Large part of me is saying look at everything rationally, there are signs of a bad interview, move on. But another part of me is still hoping for a good result despite all I've mentioned above.

Should I just assume I didn’t get it and move on entirely? I’m still applying elsewhere, but this role was at a company I’ve always dreamed of working for, so I’m definitely emotionally invested. That probably makes it harder for me to see things clearly. I’m either being too harsh on myself, or I’m clinging to a slim hope despite all the negative signs.

Thanks for reading and any input/comments will be appreciated.
