Confused between staying in HCL or joining Capgemini as a fresher — need advice
Hi all, I’m a 2025 graduate and currently 1 month into my job at HCLTech. My role is in the Networking domain (resolving issues related to switches, routers, firewalls). So far: I’ve started to actually enjoy networking basics (learning CCNA.).
My manager is good, the team is nice, and I’ve made some good friends.
The only drawback is long travel time (6 hours total daily).
Now I’ve received an offer from Capgemini for an Analyst role, onboarding in October at Bangalore. But:
They won’t confirm the domain before joining (could be development, testing, SAP, Cloud, or support).
If it turns out to be something I don’t like, I’ll regret leaving HCL.
But if it’s a developer role and closer to home, it could be better for my career.
I’m torn between:
Staying at HCL: where I already like the environment and am building skills in Networking/Security.
Joining Capgemini: higher uncertainty, but possible chance at a development/cloud/testing role (and maybe closer to home).
What would you suggest? Should I stick with the stability I have now, or take the risk for Capgemini?
