So with the new event and after a few "Firing a soft boiled egg at a brick wall" results I made it past a full set of 5 hostiles using

Max Level D'Kora Krayton w/

Command - Max level/tier Q Junior

Engineering - Max level/tier Ascended O'conner

Diplomacy - Level 80 3/5 tier Ayelborne

Security - Max Level 4/5 tier Mariachi Q

2000 event points per round with 4000 points for the final ship.
