New Doorman Conspiracy Theory
*SPOILERS AHEAD*
After watching the first 3 episodes, I've formed an (albeit insane) conclusion about the new doorman, Randall.
I believe Randall is an undercover cop. I know...hear me out.
In the 1st episode, Randall knew all the information about The Arconia residents at the funeral and was helping Lorraine identify them. I figured this was him training to be a doorman and went, "Good for him, he's trying to do a good job." Though, the apartment board with everyone's picture with Lester and the apartment was a standout. It looked less like a memorial board and more like a suspect board, but didn't think anything at first.
In the 2nds episode, when Lester was training Randall, he showed him the Arconia ledger but the envelope with money was super obvious. Randall questions the money, but Lester deflects and tells him not to get involved and avoid a man with a white flower on his jacket. Lester should be the only one working with him.
After the 3rd episode, "Rigor", something about Randall stood out to me. When Oliver goes to give him back the Arconia ledger, Randal is giving himself a pep talk in the closet. He is whispering to himself "Come on, you can do this." while straightening his uniform. This was odd to me only because Randall said he worked gigs before and his several week old job as a doorman didn't seem 'pep talk' worthy. It seemed like he was mustering himself up to keep up a facade. Not sure what, but after Nicky's body was found by dirty cops, it hit me.
The Arconia has been the center of criminal activity for ages, but the recent murders have brought unwanted attention to the building. Randall working there could easily be a sting operation by cops to sus out who the dirty ones are and take down whatever clandestine criminal organization is plaguing the city. Randall could know about the tenants because of the investigation and the email sent out puts faces with names. The cops ruling it an accident doesn't make sense, but they could be withholding information to see what pops up? The trio hasn't gone to the cops with anything they've found- so how can Williams confirm anything?
It's just a thought I had...I could totally be wrong. But I figured it was fun to theorize.
