Change in hair texture

I had really curly hair when i was a kid, and then in the middle it went straight/slight wave. Ive recently moves countries, and it seems my hair is gotten much more wavy/curly since then and i have no idea how to manage it. The top bits around my crown are straight, but the whole underside of my head and all my baby hairs are really wavy/curly, and halfway through the length they go straight again! And i have soooo many small baby hairs my hair always looks frizzy and unkept because theyre always sticking out😭 one of my friends has curly hair so she let me borrow her curl cream and i tried to do finger curls to give the hair some shape, but only the baby hairs stayed curly, and the rest of my hair went flatter than it did without product? Im sooo confused and i just want my hair to look nice, i used to do blowouts all the time at home but now within 2 hrs the root starts to wave up again, and i have alll these little flyaways curling up around my face 😭 does anyone have any recs? I was thinking of maybe trying the cream again but with a diffuser instead of airdrying.
