How did I get Hep C??

M27 I just found out I’m reactive for Hep C. I also did a routine STD panel in July and received a negative result for Hep C, so I I’m assuming I was exposed in the last 3 months. took lab tests yesterday and today with the same result to confirm.

I’ve read that Hep C isn’t even considered an STD due to how low the rates of transmission are. I’ve had 5 female sexual partners in the past 2 months, 3 unprotected and 2 protected. I’ve gotten several tattoos in the past 6 months. I haven’t had any surgeries or other ways to do blood-to-blood contact. Should I assume it was transmitted sexually?

Is this a life-ender? I’m extremely concerned right now for my livelihood, career, etc
