Picked this up in the sales and finally got around to trying it. Overall a fun adventure game that reminds me of the top down Zelda titles with a bit of Metroidvania level design scattered in. The story is entirely environmental with a broken landscape and weird magitek devices scattered around. Overall a very loose story with a scavenger hunt vibe.

Mechanically the game works well, with a decent albeit simplistic combat system and very fluid feeling controls. Although a few of the camera switches can be a bit jarring. Unfortunately there are also a few technical issues that make it clear the game wasn’t fully polished before release and the studios closure.

The trophy list is decent with the majority taken by story progression and collectibles, which are thankfully unmissable improve your health, stamina etc or give you new abilities. Exploring the world after each new change or ability to find the next pathway is rewarding and I found by the end of the game I could pretty much find my way around without the map.

There are a few misc combat trophies which are nothing to write home about. Pretty easy as long as you keep them in mind throughout the game.

The main obstacle are the challenge trophies, requiring you to complete the game in under 5 hours with no upgrades and under 5 deaths. It sounds daunting but isn’t really too bad when you know what to do and where to go. My time was under 2:30 so plenty of leeway on time and most encounters can be skipped by running past them.

Overall a fun game and plat experience.

[Hob] #65. A fun top down action adventure with a fairly challenging Ironman run (<5 deaths, no upgrades, under 5 hours).
