Do I confront my boss??

Advice

My boss and I get along pretty bit he’ll occasionally say things to me that are insensitive- if it were just insensitive that would be okay; but I’m afraid that this will become the predominant narrative about me in the workplace- which in not okay with.

For specific context, I am currently in a leadership role in my org- think Program Manager adjacent and I manage 1-2 staff under me. I’m only 27 but I’m an extremely high performer and was the only one in my office to get a perfect performance score. However recently when I’ve been meeting with my boss for 1-1 meetings he makes a point to say how young I am when asking about my future plans. For context he’s 45 (maybe subconsciously, maybe not)? But it makes me upset because I feel like he isn’t seeing me as a leader despite the numerous projects I take on and how well I manage my team.

I want to be seen for the value of my work and not my age. Has anyone else dealt with this? Have any tips for discussing this with the boss?

Thank you in advance!
