Inart Legolas vs Aragorn availability before and now, information for me, new collector

Hello, I am new to collecting so I missed Aragorn and Gandalf. I would like to collect some LOTR figures if they are not double price like Gandalf.

I see that it will be impossible for Gandalf, but I see Aragorn is still being sold in stores and on Ebay even cheaper than in the stores.

Right now Legolas it out of stock in most stores except special ones on other continents and on Ebay he is going for aloooot if you are European.

I wonder if the situation was the same with Aragorn? That he was sold out everywhere then got restocked and price fell?

Because if that is the case, then that will likely happen with Legolas too and I can just wait and buy him for normal price. But if I wait and he increases I will never be able to justify buying, him like Gandalf.

That is why I really need help with some history lesson here guys, if it's not too much to ask :)
