Middle aged women at work

I (26F) work for a big company in the UK and have been there just over 4 years.

The only issues I’ve ever had at this workplace have been with middle aged women. Firstly a case of bullying from my former boss, and recently just simple rude behaviour from another woman around middle age. HR at the company, although they acknowledged the bullying, ultimately didn’t really support other that the fact I now report to a different manager.

I pride myself on being able to get on with a wide range of people, and have consistent positive feedback from others.

Is this a common experience for other young women?

How should I deal with conflict when it feels there’s a strange element of age/gender involved?
