What did I eat - and where do I get a recipe to cook it?

When visiting Morocco (monkey toes, specifically), we were served breakfast at our riad that included the typical Berber pancakes, classic tomato-based shakshuka, and what I can only describe as a green counterpart. It was its own dish, very akin to shakshuka, poached eggs nestled in, savory dish, but all a creamy herby green color. Possibly some eggplant as part of the component? But I've searched eggplant shakshuka and they recipes I find still include tomatoes and none of them are green. Please help if you know what that dish may be called. I'd love to recreate it - it was utterly delightful. I'm hoping it was something traditional and that I'm just not searching for the right thing rather than it being some unique dish that specific riad had created.
