Romantic Idealism vs Romantic Actuality: An Anecdotal Analysis
According to romantic idealism, attraction is based on various factors. Those factors include, but are not necessarily limited to:
-
Hygeine. This can include the cleanliness of the person and as well as where the live.
-
Personality. This includes agreeability, willingness to solve problems, and other such facets.
-
Education attainment.
-
Job stability.
-
Housing stability.
-
Mental health.
-
Willingness to work on their self.
As stated, this list is not exhaustive.
None of these is so important as access to resources. A person who does everything they are supposed to, but lacks resources, through no fault of their own, is not seen as desirable. The romantic idealism is that a person who satisfies all of the requirements set forth is and should be desirable as a partner. But this is not the case. A person can be an alcoholic who pisses in the closet and they will be seen as much more desirable if they have a house. They can be dull, stupid, and a racist, but they are more desirable because they didn't have to work for their house. The only factor that matters to anyone is access to resources. Nothing else. No amount of therapy, self-improvement, weightloss, hygeine, job stability, or personality will ever make someone desirable if they do not have access to resources. That is the only thing that matters, so please stop lying about what is desirable. Stop with your bullshit idealism and just tell the truth.
