The Lamps at Midnight

Jesus said the end would be like ten waiting for the bridegroom. Five carried oil for their lamps. Five did not.

When the hour came, the unprepared went searching. The door opened — but not for them.

The warning was simple: keep your lamp lit. Readiness is not about predicting the hour. It is about carrying what burns inside you, so the moment does not pass unseen.

(Matthew 25:1–13)

This isn’t about religion. It’s an archetype. The lamp is the inner fire. The oil is what sustains it. The door is the threshold. It’s the same story in every tradition — readiness isn’t about dates, it’s about carrying light.
