Second Family Car - Need Ideas

Hey cool car people - my partner and I are looking into getting a second car as I've now passed my test and will be using our "main car", a 2020 Toyota CHR which we bought outright, as its got more space for all the baby gear. He'll need a second car for driving to and from work, and we're completely torn between electric or petrol (his work does have electric charging but they've just started charging for it so it's not *quite* a big a draw as it was prior); if to get electric outright or on finance as we've heard they don't hold their value well (if we do go electric); if to just get an older 2010-2014 era petrol car and buy it cash for around 5k (GBP), and if so what's a good'un to look at. Ideas please! Thank you
