No contact grandma keeps sending kids packages

We have not spoken to my MIL in a bit over 2 months after my husband called her out on being disrespectful and dismissive to our parenting and that is why she can’t take our son (3yo) places, basically we don’t trust she would uphold our rules etc and might even badmouth us around him. Of course… she denied and dismissed what he said, she’s toxic and he has realized how that impacts him and our family over the last couple of years and just isn’t willing to accept it anymore. I saw this much sooner but didn’t want to be the cause of a broken relationship between him and his mom, I just dealt with it although he knew I had problems with her, he has apologized many times for expecting me to continue that relationship through her toxicity towards me.

Anyways, she keeps posting passive aggressive things on fb about how important grandparents are in a kids life etc, whatever… but otherwise hasn’t tried to reach out to repair or talk. My husband just has no interest and generally tries to keep her out of his thoughts. BUT this is the second time she has sent a little package addressed to our son with some note about missing him (mind you, he can’t read so clearly she must know we will be reading it)… the most recent one came yesterday, our son was with me when I got the mail but I managed to hide it from him (he loves opening packages).

The sending of packages just feels so intrusive and manipulative… you don’t get to have a relationship with our son without a relationship with us. I feel for my husband, it just reminds him how she is and that she exists (which I feel might be part of her motive “hey, don’t forget about me!”). Anyone deal with this in the past? Any tips or insights into how it has sussed out? I know some clarity will have to come, some conversation but that’s for my husband/MIL to decide when and how it comes about…
