AIO for wanting to break up with my boyfriend because of charlie kirk?

first of all, i just made this account as a throwaway. so this guy (35m) i've been with for 8 months. i (30f) asked him before we started dating what he thinks about trump because even tho i'm kind of in the middle of the political spectrum, i dislike trump supporters and most conservatives very much these days cause of obvious reasons. he claimed he wasn't a very political person and i took it cause neither am i. however the recent charlie kirk/denver shooting/melissa hortman thing does have me a little broken up. we don't talk politics btw cause as i said we both aren't political people. (i really try to avoid even reading the news cause of mental health reasons which is selfish i feel like but i do deal with severe depression as it is and a lot of it breaks me.) he's made a couple little comments in the past that made me suspicious towards his political ideals tho, making me think he's a trump supporter. last night he was talking about how he's sad cause there was supposed to be some kind of debate coming up next month with him and this other man? and he was saying how fantastic of a debater charlie kirk was, which i don't agree with but i say nothing. today i caught him commenting on social media how much of a legend charlie kirk was. and all i can think about is how funny it is that the man was killed in a shooting (which i feel is fucked to say but it really is ironic.) he treats me really good and i do like him. and he's allowed to have his opinion on things. but this kind of has me very conflicted.
