Got a bad situation at work, now the coworkers might become toxic. What should I do?
Europe, english my second language, so bear with me.
I, 28f, work in a retail store for shoes. Before that I worked in a shop for decor things and the environment and the team was toxic. Out of my goodwill I stayed there a year, but it kinda broke me. This new work (3 month now), was promising with nice people. But now there is a case of theft and all fingers automatically pointed to me, because I am the new one. The team consists of people that have worked together for years and without anything happening (so they say). Without cameras though there is no chance to know who would have stolen. For the boss the solution for now is to limit access to the money and looking how it goes. For the team though, they cover each other out of friendship and the only solution they see is that the "odd one out", the new one, must have taken it. They are blindly gossiping about it and were very hostile as is in the meating about it today.
Tomorrow I need to work with them, espacially the ones that are really aggressive about it. What should I do now? Like I really liked the job, but I don't want to endure mobbing again. Can I do something to prevent the mobbing or to make them believe me? Any advice would be appreciated.
