Constant back and forth with what degree to pursue.

Findapath-College/Certs

21 did community college right after graduating high school, since then I've only completed one full year of college over the course of 3 years. I've switched my majors a few times with the main issue being my mental health. It affects everything in my life and I've noticed patterns while in college so I've decided to take another break.

I will be enrolling in the Open University as it's fully online and takes 3 years to complete full time. The degrees I'm considering are based off of interest level but very little knowledge in or about the field/subject. I'm thinking either doing a degree in accounting/finance or something IT related like business information systems or a general IT degree. I've had a consistent interest in these two areas, for business I'd like to work in corporate and eventually do my own thing and for IT I would work towards building experience to work my way up into Cybersecurity. As mentioned with having mental health issues that are being worked on I don't want to solely commit to IT being that I know it takes years to gain experience and having low-zero interest in the field doesn't get you anywhere.

With getting a business degree I've read and heard a lot online that it's better to get a more technical degree like accounting because you can be taught the skills needed in finance on the job but not the other way around. I've taken one accounting course and I think I would've somewhat enjoyed it had I not be in a bad mental place.

I'm also keeping in mind that I will be moving to the UK while I finish my degree since my partner lives there so it would be a more permanent move for me. If anything I've thought of getting a business related degree and learning about IT on the side in my own time and building a portfolio.
