Waivered
(This is long sorry but explaining the situation) So I had mild acid reflux my whole life. Not bad at all just mild. During basic training I started throwing up a lot, and they sent me to the docs and I said I’ve had acid reflux and when I get anxious it gets worse but it was never as bad as it was at that moment. Later on they sent me to the hospital for an endoscopy, I found out I had a 2cm hiatal hernia and was given meds to take every morning to keep the acid down, never knew anything else after that. Basic training goes by and we graduate. Later that night after being out with family I got told I’m not leaving. Got sent to medhold and was there for 1 week before finding out why. Talking to the officer she was a complete bitch to me, telling me that my hiatal hernia is a problem and practically made me discharge and not try for the waiver cuz I’d never get it. So I discharged. Later found the documents they gave me and they said I had GERD and the hiatal hernia and 3 other things. I went to a few doctors and tests for them and those 3 other things were never there. Somehow I managed to get back into the military with a waiver (reserves didn’t let me back in but the guard did) so now I’m back in with a waiver and been in for 4 years with 1 year of being on active orders. If this shit was bad enough to discharge me and I’m on a waiver can I get VA disability, this part of my life in the military is a big unknown to me and recently thinking about it lowkey upsets me that I was also never offered Va disability when getting kicked out. Is it even good enough to get 50% or a percentage even worth trying to go for.
