A first kiss,
A first kiss,
Like calm water on the shore, rising to leave an impression,
then slipping away—
the sand remains.
Light as a pearl,
heavy as the wells of the sea.
Uncertain, the gentle waves of a restless mind
anxiously recede toward their briny home.
Pulled by my silver heart,
I drift from the coast,
leaving only a silent goodbye.

Just got back into writing after years due to a Creative Writing class. Was always scared of poems, but I've grown a random desire to put my thoughts/feelings into poems in the past 2 weeks. This is pretty much the first 'poem' I've ever written. Advice and critiques are GREATLY appreciated! Trying to improve and get better!
To clarify, I made this poem, then used some AI to find synonyms to certain words. I never straight up take from AI, I use it as fuel for my own mind and creative process while I don't have any peers to review because my college class allows that specifically.
