9 months of heavy use as I play almost everyday for 1-2 hours. This was my first drum kit and I purchased Drumeo to learn how to play. You can clearly see the Kick and the larger Ride are Titan70 replacements sent to me by Simmons customer service because they didn't have the Titan50 replacements in stock to they upgraded me for free!

The module is very basic, you have a few drum stock kits most sound like crap and they are very one-dimensional with a heavy electronic sound. But if you connect to a laptop and use Addictive Drums or EZ Drummer, you have access to hundreds of kits that sound more realistic.

The lag time is pretty bad connected to a laptop. I use an Intel I-7 with 16gb RAM and an audio-interface, but the latency is still noticeable. I tried 6 different audio interfaces from Amazon including the Scarlett Solo and M-Audio Mtrack Solo and settled on the Mtrack, because their custom driver works with ASIO and sounds excellent.

The pads are very small and so you get rim shots. On my acoustic set I rarely hit the rims. All of the pads and cymbals with the exception of the snare are single zone. The snare allows rim shots but it's a joke, you cant even hear it and playing the rim is difficult and awkward. Having 2 crashes is awesome and the extra Tom is cool too, especially if you do alot of tom grooves or worship-style drumming.

I have in-ear buds, over-ear headphones and a large, drum amp. I tend to use the in-ear and over-ear more often than the drum amp, mostly because the sound is very muttled when you add music combined with drums through the speaker. Maybe in the future I'll add a second speaker dedicated to music for sound separation.

Were I to do this all over again, I would probably go with the Lemon or HXM ekits from Alibaba, since I like the feel of the acoustic kit but cant handle the noise.

Lastly, for anyone looking for a lower-end starter, ekit, this is a winner and Simmons customer service send out free replacement parts for 1 year if you call and tell them something broke. After only 9 months I broke both a crash and a kick. After my warranty expires, I'll wait till something breaks again, then upgrade and give this to someone looking to learn.
