Rider with chronic pain, honda CL500 or smth else?

Next Bike?

My last big bike was an MT-07 (owned it for less than a year, sold it about 7 years ago). Right now, I ride a 125cc adventure scooter because of shoulder and hand issues I’ve been dealing with.

Recently, I tried sitting on the CL500 and the NX500. The clutch feels smooth, so it doesn’t hurt my hand too much. The NX500, however, was too tall for me (I’m 164 cm / 5’5”). The CL500 wasn’t as comfortable as the NX500, but I’m considering raising the handlebars to improve the fit.

My main concerns are: 1. As someone with chronic pain, I’m not sure how much I’d actually be able to use a new bike. Should I even get one? But at the same time, I really want it. Maybe I should ask this to my psychiatrist. 2. Would I have less vibration and an easier ride with an automatic transmission (like Yamaha Y-AMT or Honda E-Clutch)? The issue is, those bikes are heavy, and my arms are weak. 3. Would the CL500 be enough for group rides? I’d like to join motorcycle clubs, but I also worry that I might look like too much of a beginner on a CL500. CL500 doesn’t have traction control unlike my current scooter.

I wouldn’t call myself a good rider. My old MT-07 already had more power than I needed. I also have ADHD and poor hand coordination but I still want to become a better rider.

So the question is: should I go for the CL500, or something else, maybe even bigger with traction control and automatic transmission? Any other suggestions? I’ve been riding since 19 years old.
