When you know, you know?

Hi, everyone! Long time reader, first time poster here. I (28F) have dated a lot and never felt that ‘when you know, you know’ thing and honestly didn’t think it was real until recently. I met the most amazing man, (32M) who is like everything I could want in a best friend and a partner.

We’ve been seeing each other for a little bit now and when we first met I felt that it was different but last night made me really feel like I ‘know’. I had an absolutely awful day at work and sent him a voice memo (as we do) about it and he asked if I wanted to come over. I proceeded to have a worse day (& drop a bottle of wine before I got in my car) and he told me not to worry and to get there safe. I walked in the door and this man had his personal, hand written (!!!) recipe book out and had made fresh pasta & sauce.

In a world where I normally would’ve started on a tear about my day, I felt so at peace and at home watching him cook for me and spending the evening taking care of me and in that moment it felt like this is forever.

It’s a feeling I have never, ever had before. I’m an incredibly cautious person when it comes to dating and this is out of my comfort zone but I’m simultaneously the most comfortable I’ve ever felt with a man.

I just want to know for those of you who are married, what did you feel when you felt like you met your person? Did you really know in your gut like they say?

TL;DR - I think I’m falling in love & I think I found my person but is it true for you/your relationship that you really did know?
