My trading principles

Discussion

* indicators are the best trading tool.

* understanding how indicators work, even if only roughly, will make your job much easier.

* the more different information you collect the better in order to make an informed decision. e.g. price, volume, trend, volatility, order book, sl-tp clusters, sentiment, fundamental etc etc. so you have to use 3-5 different indicators to verify.

* stuffing the same type of indicators (e.g. volume) on the same chart is useless except for certain specific purposes (e.g. 14, 50 and 100 ma).

* you should always do contrarian trading but never go against the trend. <<-- this is the most common mistake.

* first you have to understand whether the market is trending or ranging. your strategy will change accordingly. adx is useful here. then the risk appetite of that day is important (risk on-risk off)

* knowing when to exit a trade is as important as knowing when to enter. you can make big profits by using only the exit indicator without using tp-sl.

* normally there is no oversold-overbought in forex but there is because of bots.

* you shouldn't risk more than 2% of your capital on a trade. so you have a chance to make 50 trades before it blows up. you'll know if your strategy is working before your money runs out early.

* support-resistance levels are real because of order book logic. not so sure about candlestick patterns
